How this works
Under EU Regulation 576/2013, a pet may enter the EU when it is microchipped, vaccinated against rabies (21-day wait for primary vaccination), and — if coming from an unlisted third country — has passed a FAVN rabies antibody titre test, with a three-month wait from the sample date. Dogs entering Ireland, Finland, Malta, Norway or Great Britain also need echinococcus (tapeworm) treatment 24 to 120 hours before arrival.
